Join us for the continuing series of monthly conversations, Creating a World without Nuclear Weapons, focused on the Catholic approach to nuclear weapons that will engage students from Catholic Universities, which include Notre Dame, Georgetown, Catholic University, Northwestern, and university partners in Japan, Africa, South America, Mexico, and more. Conversations will address the moral implications of using the bomb, current and critical nuclear issues, and what can be done to move forward toward the Papal vision of  “nuclear zero.

Topic for this month is:
In honor of Native American Heritage Month, and Veteran's Day, the topic of discussion will be the humanitarian impacts of nuclear weapons and uranium mining for nuclear weapons production, particularly on Navajo Nation, as well as the people of Kazakhstan, and the efforts to extend the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act.

Guest speakers: Dr. Maryann Cusimano Love, Catholic University of America (CUA), with with a team of CUA students, as well as CUA photographer Patrick Ryan sharing his experiences photographing nuclear testing victims in Kazakhstan.
