Kenyan Bishops on National Elections

The Supreme Court in Kenya recently ruled to invalidate August's presidential election results, mandating that new elections be held by the end of October. Unrest and violence did occur after the August election, though they remained contained. The Bishops of Kenya have issued a press release, with the heaing "Let one and all Arise … to build this our Nation together," affirming the fact that the courts and the rule of law were able to prevail instead of violent protest and urging for people to continue on a similar path regardless of the new outcome. New elections are currently scheduled for October 17.
