Pope Francis' 2017 World Day of Peace Message

In his message for the 2017 World Day of Peace, Pope Francis asserts the need for a "politics of nonviolence," saying, "On this occasion, I would like to reflect on nonviolence as a style of politics for peace."  In a commentary on the message in America magazine, Drew Christiansen highlights CPN as an orgaization the demonstrates Francis' observation that, “The church has been involved in nonviolent peacebuilding strategies in many countries, engaging even the most violent parties in efforts to build a just and lasting peace.”  Read the full article here, and see the pope's full message here.
