Round Table Peace 5

A roundtable discussion took place at Rome's Urbanianum University on January 18th to discuss peacebuilding work in South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The meeting brought together hundreds of members of religious orders with ministries in the countries, and it was co-sponsored by Caritas Internationalis and the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. The roundtable followed a prayer service for peace in South Sudan and the DRC last November, which was led by Pope Francis. According to the report from Catholic News Service (via Crux): "For most of the speakers at the event, the church’s key contribution to peace must be education, formally in classrooms, but also in being models of how men and women from different nations and ethnic groups can live together in peace and build community."
